Division of Palliative Care one of curcial unit in Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine University Malaya. Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and thier families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual - WHO.
This unit providing teaching and training for undergraduate, post-graduate, fellowship programme and spread awareness to colleagues and community. Only few of university in Malaysia offer this subspecialities and University Malaya one of that. We are actively in training future specialist who are interested to pursuing in this area. In our practising hospital Universiti Malaya Medical Center (UMMC), we have outpatients and inpatients that need our service.
