Masterclass in Medicine 2025

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya proudly presents the
Masterclass in Medicine 2025 series, a comprehensive academic initiative designed to
enhance the clinical, communication and professional competencies of postgraduate medical
trainees, particularly those preparing for the examinations.
The program consists of three key events held in September 2025, each with a distinct focus
aimed at developing crucial medical and communication skills. These includes:

1. Communication Skills Workshop (26th Sept 2025, Universiti Malaya) – focuses on
developing essential communication and interpersonal skills for effective doctor-
patient interactions and examination preparation. Exclusively for less than 20
participants.

2. Masterclass in Medicine Annual Congress (27th–28th Sept 2025, Armada Hotel,
Petaling Jaya) – provides academic updates and expert discussions in major medical
specialties such as Endocrinology, Nephrology, Dermatology, And Rheumatology
delivered by esteemed speakers and joined by over 100 medical officers across
Malaysia.

3. Postgraduate Short Case Preparatory Course (29th Sept 2025, Universiti Malaya
Medical Centre) – offers guided, practical short case sessions with real patients,
conducted by experienced MMED/MRCP examiners and with over 60 participants.

These events collectively aim to improve examination readiness, strengthen clinical
competencies, and promote professional growth among postgraduate trainees. Through these
events, the Department of Medicine continues its mission to nurture future medical specialists
who are not only clinically proficient but also effective communicators and compassionate
practitioners. The initiative also reinforces Universiti Malaya’s commitment to academic
excellence and leadership in medical education.
