Department of Medicine

The Division of Neurology, under the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Universiti Malaya offers management services for adult patients with neurological disorder. The inpatients wards are located Menara Utama 5th floor (5UA) for acutely ill patients, Menara Selatan 9th floor (9SB) for non-acute patients and neurorehabilitation (Chronic Cases).

The neurology unit is a comprehensive stroke centre where we offers 24/7 acute isohaemic stroke thrombolysis and trhombectomy service at Universiti of Malaya Medical Centre and this service has been certified Platinum by the World Stroke Organization-Angels program in 2023.

Beside clinical service the Neurology Laboratory provides neurophysiological services and accept referrals from other hospitals. The Neurology Unit is responsible for teaching Neurology to undergraduate and postgraduate students and specialists undergoing Neurology subspeciality training/ fellowship.
