Types of clinical services offered ;
1. Inpatient Care
We provide care for patients with both neoplastic and non-neoplastic haematological conditions. The Haematology ward is located on the 6th floor in Menara Timur, Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. The ward is divided into two main sections; one for the care of general haematology patients and the other for patients undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplantations and cellular therapy. Consultative haematology are also a major portion of the services we provide.
2. Haematology Daycare
Haematology outpatient daycare services are held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. This include consultations, review of patients after chemotherapy, administration of chemotherapeutic agents and transfusion of blood products. We also perform procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy and intra-thecal chemotherapy.
3. Haematology Clinic
This general haematology clinic on Friday morning caters for consultation and follow-up of patients with haematological conditions. We accept referrals within hospital and other healthcare institutions.
4. Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Clinic
In this clinic, we review and provide care for patients who have undergone haematopoeitic stem cell transplantations, both autologous and allogeneic. The clinic is held every Monday afternoon.
